If you love books that weave together multiple storylines and leave you feeling both emotional and hopeful, I think Meet Me in Paris is worth adding to your list. Kristin Harmel has become one of those authors I can settle into almost instantly, and this book reminded me why. Despite following a large cast of characters, every storyline felt clear and purposeful, and I found myself caring about each person's journey.
The story follows nine Americans whose lives intersect over the course of one unforgettable week in Paris. A mother and daughter are taking one final trip together as they face an unimaginable goodbye, a former rock star is searching for a new direction in life, and an elderly songwriter returns to the city hoping to reunite with the woman he never forgot. As their paths cross, the connections between them slowly come into focus.
I especially loved the sense of place in this novel. Paris is brought to life so beautifully that I could almost picture myself sitting in its cafés and wandering its streets. The city ties all of these stories together in a way that feels both romantic and comforting.
I also loved the social media campaign that accompanied the book's release. Kristin Harmel shared photos of many of the real-life Paris locations that inspired the story, and it added another layer to the reading experience. Seeing those places while reading made the novel feel even more immersive and left me wanting to book a trip to Paris myself.
