If you enjoy emotional love triangles, second-chance romance, and stories about the complicated pull of home, I think you'll enjoy Love You More.
The story follows Billie, a successful doctor in New York who has finally found happiness with her fiancé, Dean. But just after getting engaged, she receives an unexpected call from her first love, Mick, and returns to Wisconsin, where old feelings and unresolved questions come rushing back.
I found this one incredibly easy to settle into. Emily Giffin's writing feels warm and comforting, and I quickly became invested in Billie's story. One of my favourite things about the book was that I genuinely couldn't decide who I wanted her to end up with. I kept going back and forth between the two men, which made the emotional stakes feel very real.
I also appreciated that this wasn't just a romance. Billie's ambition and the life she built for herself matter just as much as her love life. The book also captures that difficult feeling of wanting to make a life somewhere new while still feeling pulled back to home and the people you left behind. And for me, the friendship storyline was every bit as compelling as the romance.
My only complaint is that the ending felt a little rushed. After becoming so invested in these characters, I wanted a bit more time with the resolution. Still, this was an engaging and heartfelt read that I flew through.
