Looking for witchy books to read in 2026? I’ve been having lots of fun collecting the magical, mysterious, and slightly spooky stories that have made their way onto the shelves this year.
2026 feels like a particularly good year for witchy fiction, with Practical Magic 2 arriving in theatres in September and Alice Hoffman, the queen of witchy books, returning with The Witches of Cambridge.
But there are plenty more witches waiting to be discovered in the pages of this year’s new releases and I love how differently authors approach witchy stories. Some are cozy and romantic, some are atmospheric and unsettling, and others take us into entirely new worlds.
This year’s books feature secret sisterhoods, ancient curses, haunted houses, magical families, forbidden love, and women discovering powers they never expected to possess.
